Spring is a time where flowers are blooming, and lush colors of green are stretching as far as the eye can see. The is the time of year you may also be experiencing allergies and cleaning out dust from your home. Spring cleaning is a great way to refresh your home and rearrange your everyday furniture layout. You may have a certain guideline to follow when cleaning out the old, and some pro tips can also help you make the most out of your spring cleaning marathon!

Dust and Dandruff

Some things you may not consider while cleaning is the dust gathering on the fabric around your home such as drapes. In order to clean them you can use a sticky lint roller to get the surface clear- but as well you can take them down and air fluff them for 15 minutes with a damp towel. The damp towel will cling the dust to it, leaving you with refreshed drapes. Other surfaces may have gathered dust, such as desktops, shelves and tv stands that you may not have dusted as well for a while, so ensuring to clean them off can create a more clean environment for you and your family. Fabric as well can contain dust besides your drapes, including your comforter and throw blankets. Cleaning the bedding in your rooms and blankets for your couch can help make the air in your home pure.

Healing plants

Aside from washing the fabrics and dusting surfaces in your home you can also purify your air by adding plats in your home. The color of vibrant greens as well can add life to any room or color scheme you have in your living space. Some plants that are proven to enhance air supply are Areca Palm, The Areca Palm does well in filtered light and needs to be watered often. For one person, four shoulder high plants should suffice. Another great suggestion is Chinese Evergreens. The Chinese Evergreen is one of the most common household plants and for good reason. This plant emits a high oxygen content while purifying indoor spaces of harmful chemicals such as benzene, formaldehyde and other toxins. As its name suggests, it is quite popular in China specifically for its high efficiency in removing harmful pollutants from the air.

Fridge duty

We use fridges daily but have you remembered the last time you clean the inside? Although we may not think it, the inside of fridges can gather bacteria from spills and food being uncovered. Taking all food out of the fridge, tossing anything out of date including glass bottled goods such as pickles and jams, or produce looking wilted. Not only will it free you space in your fridge, it will also give you peace of mind seeing only good and in date foods in your fridge. Clean the interior of your fridge with an anti bacterial  cleaner or wipes, then run a damp rag through the fridge to wipe up and harmful chemicals. A sparkling fridge is dry pleasing to not only you but guests!

When spring cleaning the interior is not the only focus, having a nice yard day as well can brighten the exterior of your home. Try pressure washing your drive way, sides of the home if needed, and adding in bright plants and flowers to perk up the walkway or entrance to your front door. When cleaning know you can always do sections per day, or enjoy a nice Sunday full of enhancing your home and spring cleaning experience!
